SILOVIEW
GARDENS II

Spring planting ideas
by Phyllis Wright
Siloview Gardens II
is an example of a privately owned plant nursery business in Warren
County.
Owner Martie Haner graduated in 1977 with an ornamental
horticulture degree from Penn State - Williamsport Campus. After working
at various local jobs for a couple decades, she decided to help people put
"fun" back into gardening.
You can walk along the rows of her one-acre nursery and
see ideas of how the plants will look in your garden. Then dig the plants
and take them home, knowing they will survive in our Warren County climate.
She also is willing to barter for plants - a value added idea for avid
gardeners. Martie reminds people "... don't take gardening too seriously -
have fun."
At Siloview Gardens II you will see farm silos in a
distance, enjoy wild flowers, herbs and perennials; and get advice from
her 30 years of gardening experiences. She is open early Spring thru Fall,
11 AM - 7 PM but it is best to call ahead at 814-489-7333. Siloview
Gardens II is located between Sugar Grove and Lander off Route 957, 3/4 miles
south on Rowley Rd.
